Dean Cummings H2O Guides Program

 

 

H2O Guides, Dean Cummings and the Snowbird Mountain School have teamed up for the 2007/2008 season; providing accelerated ski and snowboard camps, clinics and private guiding.  These patented programs are the best ways increase your mountain skills, knowledge and awareness ultimately taking your mountain ability to the next level.

H2O Big Mountain Camps

Dean and the H2O Guide Team will share their knowledge, experience and ability while guiding you as a team into the best terrain and powder available. Combining lift, backcountry, and heli access in Utah’s Wasatch Range, this four-day/ four-night camp is sure to get you ready for the steeps of Alaska.

·         3 days of early and side door Tram access

  • One day Heli Skiing with Wasatch Powderbird Guides
  • 4 nights lodging at the Cliff Lodge with spa access
  • Learning through the vertical gain approach
  • Weather, terrain and snow evaluation
  • Hands on transceiver training and mock rescue scenarios
  • Includes skis, pack, beacon, shovel and probe 

Session 1: January 9-12, 2008
Session 2: February 6-9, 2008

All Inclusive Price: $2,891 + room tax (based on double occupancy)

 

Big Mountain Experience 

 

If you’re coming to Snowbird to access big mountain terrain, then Dean Cummings Big Mountain Experience (DMX) is the program for you! Expert skiers and riders will learn back country protocols, mountain awareness, terrain management, challenge personal capabilities and refine skills in this day-long semi-private adventure. Dean Cummings, Alaskan helicopter guide, specially selects and trains the DMX staff to lead your group to Snowbird’s best snow and secret spots.

 

  • Interpretation of weather, terrain and on the go snow pack evaluation
  • Snow study and stability evaluation
  • Decision making
  • Hands on transceiver training and mock rescue scenarios
  • Includes skis, pack, beacon, shovel and probe

Daily Price: $180 per person (minimum of 2 participants, maximum of 6 participants per group)

 

 

Private Guiding

 

This day is all about you!  Join Dean for a day of private guiding and work on the specific skills you need to accelerate your skiing and snowboarding skills.  Whether it is technique, reading terrain, learning how to find the best snow or just skiing first tram to last a day with Dean will take your skiing to the next level.

 

  • Early and side door Tram access

  • Advancement in all mountain and big mountain performance skiing
  • Emphasis on terrain, snow and line selection
